Ingredients
- 200g (7oz) self-raising flour
- 50g (1¾oz) margarine
- 125ml (4½fl oz) water
- 1tsp sugar
- pinch salt
- vegetable oil
Method
- Sift the sugar and salt into the flour in a bowl. Rub in the margarine, then make a well in the centre.
- Gradually mix in the water to make a soft dough.
- Divide the dough into small balls and knead each for ½ to 1 minute.
- Fry the cakes in the oil on a moderate heat until they are golden brown on both sides.
